Meet the Friendly South Creek Staff

Our professional and courteous staff provide the best possible pet health and wellness services to assist your pet in living a longer, happier, and healthier life.

Joleen – Office Manager

With 25 years of experience as a technician, Joleen utilizes that role and its lessons to help her understand the nuanced aspects of being a manager in the animal field. Her job responsibilities include hiring and training new employees, ordering supplies for the clinic, creating employee schedules, filling in as a technician when needed, maintaining and managing the online pharmacy, and the day-to-day operation of the clinic as a whole.

She loves working with the cohesive team at South Creek Animal Hospital where everyone loves what they do! Her passion is nursing the tiniest and sickest babies back to full health.

“I enjoy working at South Creek because we are like family, and we all work together so well. I can honestly say I love coming to work every day.”

Joleen has three dogs, Rossi, an 11-year-old mixed breed, Sig, a six-year-old Anatolian Shepherd/Great Pyrenees, and a Border Terrier puppy named Hattie. She also has two domestic shorthair cats name Leno and Judith, as well as two kittens named Sutton and Dean.

Outside of the animal hospital, you can find Joleen working on her small hobby farm where she has chickens and a garden. She also enjoys baking.

Heidi – Certified Veterinary Technician

Heidi has been a certified technician for 24 years and is an exceptional team player. She loves that she gets to work with animals all day long and is great at interacting with clients. Her job duties include assisting with surgeries and dental procedures, taking x-rays, lab work, and obtaining patient histories. She has an associate degree in Applied Science from Parkland College.

Heidi has two cats named Rocket and Holly, and a 12-year-old dog named Leo. In her free time, she loves gardening, baking, and antique shopping.

Emily – Certified Veterinary Technician

Emily has been a full-time member of our team at South Creek Animal Hospital since October of 2019. In 2002, she graduated from Parkland College as a Certified Veterinary Technician. She has a four-year-old Cavalier King Charles Spaniel named Jovi.

In her downtime, Emily loves kayaking, boating, beer and wine tasting, and listening to live music with her boyfriend Paul. She also loves walking and getting ice cream with her Cavalier, Jovi!

Lexi S. – Veterinary Technician

Known for her eagerness and inquisitiveness, Lexi has been a member of our team since February of 2021. She started working in the kennels and now works as a technician assisting doctors with appointments, running and reading lab reports, obtaining samples for lab tests, assisting in surgery, and performing nail trims. She loves learning and practicing new things and is currently enrolled in college for Pre-Veterinary.

Lexi has Champ, a five-year-old Siberian Husky, and Bravo, a nine-year-old German Shorthair Pointer mix. In her spare time, she enjoys working with her horse, reading, and swimming.

Lexy C. - Veterinary Technician

Known for her fantastic personality with 11 years of experience in animal-related fields, Lexy has been a member of our team since November of 2022. Her job responsibilities include drawing blood, gathering patient histories, administering medical treatments, assisting in surgery, x-rays, and running laboratory tests.

She has a four-year-old Mastiff mix named Biggie, and three tabby cats named Leo, Mac, and Nipsey, aged nine, four, and eight months. Nipsey is the staff’s emotional support cat! Outside of the animal hospital, Lexi loves fishing, gardening, and playing volleyball.

Amanda – Veterinary Technician

Known for her joyful and positive attitude, Amanda has been a full-time member of our team since July of 2019. With experience in animal welfare for over 18 years, she provides excellent care as she draws blood, provides fluid therapy, takes patient history, gives vaccines, and more.

Amanda has two dogs, a three-year-old Yorkie named Rosie and a six-month-old Yorkie mix named Petals. She also has five domestic shorthair cats named Chewy, Rey, Leia, Sunflower, and Tulip, as well as two kittens named Simba and Nala.

In her free time, she loves spending time with her daughter and going to parks, walks, and trips to the zoo.

Sarah – Groomer

Sarah has been keeping our beloved pets clean, trimmed, and well-groomed since she started with us in October of 2018. She loves helping pets feel their best and has over eight years of prior pet grooming experience.

Sarah has a German Shepherd named Ruger, a Catahoula Leopard dog/German Shepherd named Kobe, a German Shepherd named Wall-E, and a cat named Cosmo. When she’s not working, Sarah loves axe throwing with her husband and hiking with their dogs.

Linda – Customer Care Specialist

A member of our team since August of 2016, Linda’s job responsibilities include scheduling appointments, answering phones, checking clients and pets in and out, managing emails and faxes, and assisting the technicians when needed. She’s a detail-oriented problem solver who loves problem solving, process improvements, and educating pet parents. Linda has an associate degree in Applied Science and has worked in the animal field for nine years.

She likes working at South Creek Animal Hospital because of the knowledge that she’s working with “highly skilled and compassionate doctors and staff.”

She has an 11-year-old Australian Shepherd named Juno, a five-year-old Pembroke Welsh Corgi named Archie, and a 13-year-old tuxedo cat named Licorice. When she’s not working, she enjoys traveling and watching her daughter compete with her college equestrian team.

Tanya – Client Care Representative

Tanya has worked in the rewarding field of animal care for 20 years. Today, her experience, empathy, and genuine care helps clients feel more at ease. Her job responsibilities include answering phones, scheduling appointments, liaison between clients and doctors, and pet owner education. She also takes the time to help clients understand the importance of vaccines and prevention.

A member of our team since August of 2022, Tanya is a Philadelphia transplant who started her career as a kennel manager. She then realized she loved a more hands-on approach to animal healthcare and moved to Illinois in 2016 to work at an emergency hospital in Plainfield, IL, specializing in triage.

“After my years of taking care of pets, I now get to take care of the clients, and I feel blessed to be a part of the South Creek family.”

Tanya is owned by two sassy cats named Zombie and Negan. She also recently adopted Eugene, a Miniature Wire-Haired Dachshund who believes he’s a cat. In her free time, she loves antique shopping, woodworking, and Facetiming her gorgeous granddaughter daily.

Sue – Receptionist

An integral member of our team since May of 2016 when the clinic opened, Sue is our reliable and personable receptionist with 15 years of experience in the field. Her favorite part of the job are the clients and friendships she forges daily as she welcomes clients in with a smile, checks clients and pets in and out, and schedules appointments.

Sue has Riley an eight-year-old Yorkie, and Kobe and Millie, six-month-old siblings. When she’s not working, she loves spending time with her family and boating.

Cheryl – Receptionist

Cheryl has worked as a veterinary receptionist since 2012. Working with us since June of 2022, she uses her experience, friendliness, and dependability to ensure that each client and their pet feel like the top priority. Cheryl has an Associate’s in Business and founded “Students for Animals” at KCC.

Cheryl has three Golden Retrievers named Aura, Betsy, and Charlie, a Yorkie named Kiwi, and five cats. When she’s not working, she loves gardening, crafts, and meeting new people.

Rhonda – Receptionist

Rhonda has over 15 years of animal-related experience assisting with dog training, doggy daycare, kennels, technician experience, and working at an animal shelter. Today, she is a receptionist on our team since April of 2019 answering phones, scheduling appointments, and assisting clients with their questions. She has a Veterinary Assistant certificate.

Rhonda loves the friendly atmosphere of South Creek Animal Hospital and seeing all our clients and their pets. She has a four-month-old long-haired black German Shepherd named Hudson, and a four-year-old long-haired orange tabby named Jonesy.

In her free time, she loves gardening, cooking, baking, and walking.

Cindy – Custodian

Cindy has been a positive and uplifting member of our team since September of 2022 and is responsible for the clean and comfortable environment at South Creek. She has an eight-year-old Rat Terrier mix named Maddy G and dog walks and pet sits on the side.

“The employees make me feel like family. They are all happy-go-lucky and warm.”

In her free time, Cindy loves painting, drawing, hiking, and photography. She also finds great peace in cleaning.
